This page contains glassware made by Stuart Strathearn after the take-over of Strathearn Glass Ltd. in 1980. The glass had an acid etched Stuart Strathearn mark, although this can wear off or be extremely faint. The ranges of glassware produced do not really fall into the category of Ysart Style but are of interest as they are a progression of the same team working at Strathearn Glass Limited but with new management and designers.

This is not yet a catalogue as I know so little about the production, but hopefully this beginning will stimulate further input and research. As all shapes will initially be mixed, please do not use the catalogue numbers - we should be able eventually to group items by design.

In February 1982 Stuart Strathearn introduced a range of giftware, at the “Scottish Gift Fair”, using Stuart’s own 30% lead crystal formula. Three ranges were introduced, all featuring hand-engraving with a Scottish design influence. The ranges comprised: three basic vase types, a half pint beer tankard collection and a Whisky decanter and tumblers collection.

Leaflets were produced for each range, the leaflet for Dark Crystal has the following inscription “The Dark Crystal” collection has been created using the mysterious properties of black crystal. The crystal absorbs and retains heat longer so, as it is handblown and blended with soft coloured glass powders, it produces strange textures, Vibrant fiery depths and subtly deceptive shades of colours.”
